Our Valentine's Day continued...

David and I decided that for Valentine's Day rather than giving each other gifts we just want to go to a fancy dinner.  I LOVE going to nice restaurants!  David made the reservations so that it would be a surprise for me where we were going.

We drove up to Salt Lake and arrived at The Roof Restaurant on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, right next to the Salt Lake City Temple.  The food was alright, but the view was AMAZING!  We were seated right across from the temple - you can see it in the background of the picture above.  It was so gorgeous!  There was also a pianist in the restaurant playing romantic songs in the background the whole time.

Probably the best part about the night was all the many, many delicious desserts they had.  Yes, we shared about five desserts.  We had flan, chocolate mousse, a peach crepe, chocolate cake with whipped cream, and chocolate covered strawberries!  Needless to say, I was completely stuffed by the time we were done.

Here we are with the beautiful Salt Lake City Temple behind us.  Just think only eight months ago we were there getting married!

After dinner we decided to wander around the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and have a mini photo shoot.  Here are just a few of the many pictures we took together.  That is David across the way.  The Joseph Smith Memorial Building used to be a really fancy hotel in the early 20th century.  It is beautiful inside! It has so much intricate detail on everything.

That is me sitting in the chair on the left.

A final view of what the temple looked like from our table in the restaurant.

All in all it was a great first Valentine's Day as a married couple.  Even if we had to celebrate it a week early.  I love you David!

Our Valentine's Day

Since David was going to be out of town on the real Valentine's Day, we decided to celebrate a week early on February 7th.  I decided that since David usually always cooks me breakfast on the weekends, I wanted to cook breakfast for him on Valentine's Day.  David always gets up super early so this required me to get up REALLY early.  I made a delicious breakfast of the foods below.  I thought these juice bottles were SO cute! You can't really tell in the picture but they are mini Simply Orange and Simply Lemonade bottles.  I didn't even know they made individual, mini sized ones!

These are the bottoms of my cinnamon rolls.  They were a "little" burnt so I sliced them all off. And sad to say that pan is now ruined.  I washed it and the burnt circles are still there.
But don't worry, the other part of the cinnamon rolls were delicious!  By the time I took the picture we had already eaten half of them!
And for the main course I made a delicious meal of potatoes, eggs, cheese, sausage, green and red peppers, and onions.  Now I would love to say I thought it up myself and made the whole thing from scratch but I am going to have to thank the one and only Jimmy Dean.  It was delicious.  Highly recommended.

After breakfast David had to go to campus to prepare for his construction competition, which left me to lounge around the house for the entire afternoon.  I cleaned, did some homework, and then watched hours upon hours of E! True Hollywood Story - including one about the Pussy Cat Dolls and one about Beyonce/Destiny's Child.  Finally David came home in the evening and we got ready for our night out!

Lonely Night

Is it sad that I spent two hours last night watching American Idol? Is it even sadder that I cried multiple times during the show as some of my favorite contestants made it on to the next round while for some the road to stardom ended? And finally is it even sadder that I was watching this all alone since David is in Reno for a competition until late, late Saturday night?
