Coming Soon

So I know I haven't posted in a while. Things have been super busy for me and David. Plus I upgraded to the iPhone 5 and that's what I take all my pictures on but then I found out I can't plug my phone in to iTunes/iPhoto because I need to upgrade them but I can't upgrade them because my laptop is four years old and doesn't have a new enough operating system. Thank you Apple. Don't worry, though. I ordered the new operating system for $17. Just waiting for it in the mail.

But then I thought there must be a blogger app! And let's face it. I pretty much only use my phone to do anything these days. So I downloaded it and here you go! I will definitely try to get caught up and update more.

I hope this works. Here is a wonderful video of me. Yes I work with cowboys so naturally the best thing to do on one of their birthdays is rent a mechanical bull for everyone at your office to ride.

Bored

I get bored with my hair a lot.  So I decided it was time for a little change.  First is a picture from June when David and I visited Michalle & Matt in California so that you can see how crazy long my hair had gotten.

Sorry Mom - I bleached all of it!  I know you love that!  And I chopped it off!  It is such a great feeling when you go from long hair to short hair!  You're head and neck feel so much lighter!  I will try to post again soon to give our summer update!

Month of May

May is always a busy month.  After our trip to Vegas we celebrated Mother's Day, David's Mom's birthday, and David's birthday!  Also, our house finally dug in the month of May!  I am still getting used to the new blogger and have no idea why my photos uploaded in this random order.  Rather than moving them around, I will just go with it.

Here we are at Color Me Mine.  We went right around David's birthday (which happens to also be Scott and Angela's anniversary).  It was really fun!  David had never been, but he really enjoyed himself.  Scott and Angela were pros and made the cutest cups!  Here we are with our bowls - ready to have them fired in the kiln.

In case you hadn't noticed, David and I love to eat out.  We love trying new restaurants and trying new fancy dishes.  For David's birthday, I surprised him with dinner at the Tree Room in Sundance.  It was amazing.  I highly recommend it.  But be ready to pay - it was probably our most expensive dinner - but so worth it.  For our first appetizer, we had the rabbit.  It was delicious.

Then we had a carrot soup with crab on top.  I don't even like carrots and this soup was amazing.

The Tree Room is known for their pepper steak with mango chutney, so I ordered that.  It was delicious as well.
David ordered the chef's special - the duck with fingerling potatoes in a blackberry reduction sauce.  It was amazing.

David sure thought so!!

For dessert, we had their version of a root beer float.  It was so good and very fancy for such a simple dessert.  It had layers of root beer flavored ice cream, chocolate, and root beer - with two chocolate straws and cream on top!

Springtime in Utah is so gorgeous.  It was absolutely beautiful in the mountains!

 Here is our foundation!

At the end of the month, David's little sister got a new kitty.  She named her Kleo.  Yes I do still hate animals, but she is so cute and little.  I couldn't help myself taking pictures.  Sorry - they are iPhone pics and not the best quality.

She fell asleep on David's shoulder like this. She loves David because he play fights with her.  I am too chicken for that - she has sharp little claws!

This was spotted out by our new house.  Apparently someone in the neighborhood used to own peacocks and then moved and left them all.  Some of the neighbors shot a bunch of them, but one neighbor keeps feeding them so they hang out there. Apparently they climb and poop on anything.

How precious is the kitty!!

House all framed!  This was a week ago.  The roof is already up now and almost all the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC are in!  We are currently ahead of schedule and the home will be finished August 2nd.

Told you the pics uploaded weird.  Here was the original hole.  My neighbors to the left were really mad.  That grass is their property line.  The hole literally dropped off right at the property line - oops.

Birthday celebrations!  Here is David's mom opening birthday presents.

What a cute boy!

David's actual birthday was a Saturday so we decided to have a barbeque with ribs, teriyaki chicken, fruit salad, potato salad, and garlic bread.  It was yummy!  We invited the Himes and David and Kelsi over.

His birthday cupcake!  We gave David's mom a mini cupcake pan for Mother's Day and she made cupcakes for David's birthday.  They were some of the best cupcakes I have ever had - lemon cupcakes with Paula Deen's cream cheese frosting and a blueberry to top it off.  Here secret ingredient is to puree a can of white beans in the cupcakes.

David in his sweet new hat!  He loves USC so I worked my magic and hooked us up with tickets to the Utah vs USC football game this fall.  I figured he needed a hat and shirt to wear to the game!

Happy 28th Birthday David!

Vegas Wedding

Last weekend we flew to Las Vegas for David's friend Jonny's wedding.  We flew down Friday night and got a hotel room with David's brother Daniel and wife Heather.  We both got in pretty late Friday so we didn't really do anything that night.

The wedding was at the Las Vegas Temple on Saturday.  Here is Jonny and his new wife Katilyn!  They were so cute together!

All the boys at the wedding.

Afterward David and Daniel treated us to Cheesecake Factory at the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace.  I was SO stuffed!

After we ate and walked around some of the shops, we went back to the hotel and took a really long nap.  Then we woke up late and went over to the reception.

After the reception we went to the Strip to walk around.  First stop was the Bellagio Hotel to walk around the gardens.

Next stop was the water fountains to watch a few shows.  I love the Bellagio fountains.  It is my favorite part of the Strip!

Then we walked over to the Planet Hollywood to look around.  I put a dollar in the slots and won $4.61!  That's a 461% return!  Then we stopped by the new Cosmopolitan Hotel to check it out.  It was really cool!  We left the strip and made a McDonald's ice cream run before finally going to bed.  We got up bright and early to fly back to Utah.  It was a short trip, but it was so fun to see Jonny and to hang out with Daniel and Heather.  We are so glad they are in California now instead of Wisconsin so that we can visit more often!

On our way home from the airport we stopped by our house to check out the progress.  The hole was dug and they are getting ready to pour the footings and foundation!
