Two Days!!

I have been working at my current job since August and on Tuesday night I am taking my first vacation!!! Yes, I have pretty much worked straight for 8 1/2 months! David, Daniel (David's brother), and I will be heading to California on Tuesday night for some fun at the beach and Disneyland!! Can't wait!!

Chocolate Lovers Only

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE chocolate! And most recently I love to cook - or at least attempt to cook. For the past three years or so, each General Conference, David's mom, sisters, sister-in-law, and I do a girls' night during the priesthood session of conference. This year David's mom asked me to bring a dessert. She informed me that she and David's sister had just finished a year of no chocolate so I should bring something with chocolate. (On a side note: I have no idea how they did that. After every meal I get a very intense craving for chocolate. It's as though no meal is complete until I have something chocolate.)

I immediately went to Pioneer Woman in search of a delicious recipe. I decided to make her molten chocolate lava cakes. They were really easy and really, really good! But you have to have a side of ice cream or something because they are really rich! Mine of course did not look as perfect and beautiful as Pioneer Woman's but they still tasted super good!!

Bummed

Today was a very odd day. I started my morning by scraping snow and ice off my car. Then around 11 am I looked outside and there was a blizzard! (My office doesn't have windows in it so I only see outside when I get up to walk to the copy room/ break room/ someone else's office.) It was snowing like crazy and there was snow on the ground. Then I walk by a window again around 1:30 pm and it was blue skies with the sun shining! How weird is that?!? Just a typical Spring day in Utah. But on to the real reason I am bummed. The owner of my company invited David and I to fly down to Arizona tomorrow night to stay at their Arizona home and then fly back with them next Wednesday! How fun would that have been?!?!! But sadly, David doesn't have enough vacation hours - he accumulates vacation hours with each paycheck and will barely have enough to go on our trip to California at the end of April - plus we do lots of stuff with family for Conference/Easter weekend. In fact we are having a huge breakfast at David's parent's house Sunday morning, then a big lunch at my grandma's, and then a big family dinner at David's aunt's house in Salt Lake that night. A pretty full Sunday. So it would have been sad to miss all of that, but how fun would it have been to take a spontaneous trip to Arizona to bask in the sun for five days! Well, someday it will work out....I hope. :)

On a more positive note - I figured out how to record two channels at one time on the DVR for when I am gone and have multiple shows to watch. Gotta love modern technology. Oh and I bought a lot of Easter candy! Dying to eat it!
