Secret Santa

So every year I do a secret santa with all my friends. I LOVE christmas and I love getting people presents. Especially when you find that perfect gift you know they will love. For my secret santa with my most dearest friends up here in Utah (a.k.a. 110 for life) we all agreed to put our lists on our blogs so that we won't spoil who has who. So here is my list:

I am in serious need of a new purse, but I have a really hard time picking out purses.
I really really like this style of person. Sadly this purse is $498 but I know there is a purse out there for me. I really like grey or yellow.

Lately I have been obsessed with looking at coats. I found these three at Forever 21 and they are actually pretty cheap! And so adorable!

So I really want a cute fashion scarf. Not a scarf for warmth or anything. haha.
I think they are so cute!

I found these on Target.com. I absolutely LOVE them! But they only have them online. Sad.
As much as I love my Uggs, I really need some new boots this winter.

I really want some slippers to wear around my apt. I saw these at Target and loved them!
I'm a size seven for anyone wondering!
That's all I can think of for now. Of course I always love getting any kind of clothing or anything cute. I'll post more if I can think of any thing.

Ok Natalie, Courtney, Kate, and Michelle. You guys need to post your lists stat so I can do some Christmas shopping!!!

MY BDAY/NEW HAIR

This is David and me at our apartment about to go to dinner for my birthday.
touch!!! Such a sweet bday present! I love you David!
We went to Happy Sumo for dinner. I was SO HAPPY (haha)! But for real - I had been craving their sushi for weeks! Our meal was delicious!!! We had the vegas roll (i think), which was amazing, and we ordered their teriyaki salmon. It was cooked perfectly! I loved the whole meal. Thank you David!
Here I am eating sushi. My whole life I grew up thinking I hated sushi until Happy Sumo came along. It is the best sushi I have ever had. Honestly, everyone must try it once in their life. It will win them over. Also, before scrolling down, take note of my long, blonde hair. Say goodbye!
I cut off my hair!!! About two weeks after my birthday I decided it was time for a haircut. I was so sick of long hair and it always being in the way plus I LOVE my sister Michalle's short hair so I decided to go for it! I LOVE it!!! It is so fun! I also went a little bit darker. And the girl cut all these cute layers into my hair (you can't really see them in this pic though) Also, David told me he loves it, too. I asked him if this was like the time when I got straight across bangs and he told me he liked it but then when they grew out he told me he had actually hated it but he said no it was not like that time. He actually does like it. He even said he wouldn't mind if I kept it short for a while. haha

APT 305

So these next few posts are a little late but that's ok.  I wanted to post some pics of my new apartment so that my family and friends not in Utah could see it.  It is still a work in progress but here it is so far.

Here is the bathroom sink area. Obviously.

This is the bedroom.  I have not gotten around to decorating it, yet.  The other day, though, I was telling David how blah the bedroom looked but I didn't know what to do yet and he replied, "What's wrong with the bedroom?  I think it looks good."  Typical boy. haha.

Here is a shot into the bathroom.  I LOVE our shower curtain.  Thank you Matt and Michalle!!

Here are our closets.  This is the most closest space I have ever had since going to BYU.  It is WONDERFUL! (and yet it is still nothing compared to my closet at my parents' house. :(  )

Here is a shot of the front door and the living room.  I was so proud of myself for making those flower frame things by the clock. I am so so so not crafty but I tried and I actually liked it!!
Here is a view the other way.  You can see the kitchen and the hallway back to the bedroom.  Thank you VERY much to Adam and Carlee for the couch cover.  It matched my colors PERFECTLY!! And was a million times better than the hideous colors of the couch!

So there is our little apartment.  I absolutely LOVE it!  It is so nice to be in your own place!

More California Pictures

So I still don't get blogs so I had to do another post for wedding pictures. And they pictures are really out of order but I have no clue how to fix that. So here they are:
This was at the reception up in Lancaster. My sister Michalle and her husband Matt came up to say hello since they live down in Santa Clarita. It was SOOOO good to see my sister!

Here is the lovely bride, Mrs. Heather Driggs, after coming out of the temple. Her dress was BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had a picture of the back. I loved the bustle!

A picture of the Newport Beach Temple.

A picture in front of the temple of all the friends of the bride and groom.
Me and David at the luncheon. What a lovely face David. And my hair looks a weird brown. I have no idea what color my hair really is.

Daniel and Heather coming out of the temple as we all cheered for them.

Daniel and all his best guy friends (and two brothers). I thought it was so cool how many of them came out for the wedding.
All the girls with the bride.
Here is a picture of the reception. The place looked BEAUTIFUL. There were flowers EVERYWHERE! It was decked out!
Another shot of the reception.

Why Did I Not Know California is a Desert?

So on August 21, David and me, and his parents, and brother Ben, and sisters Kathryn and Kelli all piled in to their family van to drive to California for the wedding of their oldest brother, Daniel. Honestly the drive wasn't bad. Especially when I layed down on the floor of the van for a few hours on the way home. Besides, nothing can compare to the family vacations to Utah with ten people shoved into an eight seater van for 26 hours. The trip was a lot of fun, and amazingly enough it was my very first trip to California! The beach was gorgeous - I must say Galveston is a complete dump compared to California beaches - but then again I already knew what a dump Galveston is. I will say, though, that I was shocked at how not green California was. To be quite frank, I thought L.A. was kind of ugly. It was all so brown and desert looking. I guess I have a skewed image of L.A. from watching The Hills. In those pictures, the Hollywood hills and everything look so pretty and green and nice. California in August - not the most impressive thing. I will say though again that the beach was amazing and the weather was WONDERFUL! So here are my pictures from the short weekend:

David riding a bike in Newport

You can't see it very well, but the house with all the cars parked in front was the beach house that David's Aunt Tiff and her three boys were staying at. It was SO cute!

My first time at a "real" beach as David would say.

David being brave and swimming through the waves. Notice there will be no pictures of me in a wave. First, the water was FREEZING! Ridiculously cold. Second, the waves were huge! I would have been smashed into the sand by them. I did stand knee high in one, and it STILL knocked me down!

Me and David again. I have no idea why he is wearing seaweed around his neck. But then again I don't know his motives for most things.

Me asleep on the beach. One of the BEST naps I have had in a long time.

David, Me, and Will playing wiffle ball. I actually hit the ball in this picture. Sadly, this was probably my seventh or so swing at the ball.
David pitching the ball to his cousin Will. Will and I were on a team together against David and Will's brother Coulson until Will and I lost in which Will informed me that it was actually a game of girls versus boys so really I was the only one to lose.

Driving to the beach. See the pretty blue ocean. So oceans really are blue and not brown like Galveston. Nor do they have trash and who knows what swimming around you.
Me and David in the van somewhere between L.A. and Vegas.

Driggs Family Pictures

On Sunday, David's parents decided we should take family pictures before Ben goes off to school in September and all the wedding stuff begins for Heather and Daniel.
Here is the family funny picture!
Yes, David is pretending to be a dog peeing on a fire hydrant. haha
The Driggs Family
Daniel, Heather, Ben, Me, David, Kathryn, Lauri, Paul, and Kelli
I just thought this picture looked kind of cool. David is so deep and thoughtful.

Our First Road Trip Married!

For the 4th of July weekend, my brother Adam, his wife Carlee, and their son Jack, and David and I went to Mancos, Colorado to my grandparents cabin. We arrived the morning of the 4th and just hung out at the cabin for a while. Their cabin is on top of a mountain in a national park, overlooking a lake. It is gorgeous up there! Sadly we didn't take very many pics except when we went to Mesa Verde. That night we went down to the town to watch the fireworks show. Mancos is literally the tiniest town I have ever been to. They have one stop light - which was just installed a few years ago - no Wal-Mart, no gas station, no McDonald's - nothing. The fireworks show was amazing! I have never been so close to fireworks. The firemen were literally about 100 feet away from us! The fireworks were right above our heads and at times you could feel the ashes fall down or see sparks float to the ground. Surprisingly Jack didn't mind the loud booms - he actually fell asleep during the show! On Saturday we decided to go to Mesa Verde - another national park right by their cabin. The park is of cliffside dwellings that Indians carved into the side of mountains a long, long time ago. Below is the picture of the one we toured. There are three different large "cities" you can tour and we chose this one. Adam had Jack in a backpack thing so we figured we shouldn't do the tour that involved crawling through a space 18 inches tall and 2 feet wide with a baby! This is an above view of the one we toured (I can't remember the name of it) we climbed down stairs and latters to get to it. Apparently the Indians would just climb down the very straight side of the mountain, just digging their toes into the side of the mountain - um, no thank you.

David and I waiting on top of the mountain to begin our tour.

Down at one of the other cites - Spruce Tree House - where you didn't need a tour guide. You can kind of see Adam holding Jack and Carlee is to his right.

Me inside one of the places. It would be very dark to live in one of the rooms at the back of the alcoves.

Here is our tour guide teaching us about kivas - the big whole thing in the ground. She was a very giddy lady - she actually kept me entertained the whole time.

Me and my husband!

This is one of the kivas. Some guy in our tour told us that one time a girl fainted and fell into one of these. She hit her head on the side and just fell to the bottom with a pool of blood forming around her. He said that another guy on the tour jumped down to help her and the your guide yelled to him, "hey, you're not allowed down there!" He said a helicopter had to come fly her out of the area. Scary!
David standing inside one of the other kivas that had a cover on it.

After Mesa Verde, we were going to go eat at a cafe in Mancos that Adam and Carlee told us was supposed to be amazingly good. We got there at 2:09 pm and it had closed at 2:00. We were so angry! We asked some lady in the street if there were any other restaurants in town. Our two choices were either the Hamburger Hut or something like that which looked disgusting or some restaurant called Millwood Junction. We chose that one. We stepped inside and I'm pretty sure we were the only ones not wearing a bandana and leather pants. The other diners definitely did not appreciate us bringing a baby into the "restaurant" (I'm pretty sure it was actually just a bar.) The food was decent. My favorite part was when Adam went to change Jack's diaper. As you can imagine, there was definitely no changing table in the bathroom of this "restaurant". Adam just had David hold Jack up in the air and they changed his diaper. Poor Jack. Then after church on Sunday we headed home. It was fun. Our first road trip as a married couple!
